G.P. Kittrell & Son, Inc. is a feed, seed, fertilizer supplier in Corapeake, Gates County, serving the Albemarle area of North Carolina and Hampton Roads, Virginia. In the late 1940's George Kittrell, Sr. started buying peanuts for Birdsong Peanuts and selling fertilizer and seed from a warehouse on his farm. In 1955, George built a warehouse at 1260 NC Hwy 32 North and soon expanded, selling fertilizer, seed, feed and other products to animal growers and row crop farmers. He became one of the first peanut buying stations for Birdsong Peanuts and a hog buying station for Gwaltney. In 1968, George incorporated, forming G.P. Kittrell & Son, Inc. and bringing his son George Jr. into the business.
Today, G.P. Kittrell & Son, Inc is owned and operated by George Kittrell, Jr. John Taylor Kittrell and G.P. Kittrell, III and still serves farmers selling fertilizer, seed, agricultural chemicals and feed but has greatly expanded their products for the general public. G.P. Kittrell & Son, Inc is a Pride Dog Food distributor, a Purina Mills feed dealer, a Pennington Seed (Central Gardens) dealer, and sells many other products, hardwood mulch, etc.
