GATES COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
SPECIAL MEETING – SAMPLE HAND TO EYE COUNT
Under the statutes a candidate may request a sample hand-eye recount under NC G.S. 163-182.1(b)(1), notice is hereby given that the Gates County Board of Elections will meet for Sample Hand-To-Eye Count beginning Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at, 25 Medical Center Rd, Gates, NC 27937.
The purpose of the meeting is:
To conduct a sample audit count that is required by statute and helps ensure the reliability of election results tabulated.
The audit is a comparison of the machine counts with hand-to-eye counts as a test to ensure voting equipment reads the voter’s choices accurately.
